I highly recommend going on one of Madawa's walking tours. Madawa is a super tour guide who knows the history of Sri Lanka inside and out. We had a great tour with him seeing the sights around the fort. He was patient with us in the heat, and I appreciated when he got us water. We booked an airport transfer with Halle Explorations, they offered us the best-priced option, a comfortable air-conditioned car for 3 people for just $60. The car came on time, a great driver, fast enough, and the main thing was to get us safely to the airport. Separately I want to say about the owner of the company, he turned out to be very friendly, answered all our questions and promptly arranged transportation for us. So I can safely recommend this company!

Superb discovery of Galle Fort with Matawa... for a little over 1h30 we talked about the city and Sri Lanka in general. This allowed me to better enjoy this beautiful place, I highly recommend this guided tour especially as Matawa has perfect English which allows for a real exchange

Had a great walking tour with Madawa - a Galle city local who knows the historical background as well as the quirky fun facts that keeps the your your engaging and relatable. Madawa is not only extremely experienced in what he offers, he always has a relaxed and calm demeanour which makes the walk so much more enjoyable. Definitely not a “pushy” sales tour; it’s akin to having a chat with a friend who is passionate about tourism, hospitality and culture. There were many spots available for booking to give your flexibility but enjoyed the 4.30pm tour as it ended before sundown and we could still enjoy the sunset on our own.
